first of all you have to rinse the strawberries under running cold water and let them dry in colander or put them on a dry clean kitchen towel.Remove the green stems and cut them into large pieces. After that place strawberries in a saucepan and heat it on low heat. Add a spoonful of sugar (photo 1) and stir.
Let sugar melt, then add the liqueur or port wine (photo 2). Stir gently and let the alcohol smell evaporate. The strawberries should be too much cooked but still hold their shape. Now you can add cinnamon. And as soon as strawberries start boiling, turn off the heat (photo 3).
Add some fresh mint to the plate with strawberries (photo 4), before served it.
